Death: A New Beginning
What does the dreading ”Death” card in a tarot reading really mean? Does it mean death or is there some other meaning to this card.
Most of us have heard of angel readings, psychic readings and tarot readings at some point in our lives. Perhaps you have even contacted a fortune teller, clairvoyant or psychic to give you a reading or you've seen tarot cards used in films and on television. More and more people actually own a deck of tarot cards but hardly use them. Me personally, as a fortune teller online, I own several decks and always use them whenever I perform and online tarot reading.
I've worked as a psychic and medium for 16 years and every time I perform tarot readings there is always one specific card that people fear I will draw. There are 78 cards in a deck of tarot cards and this one specific card never stops to intimidate people. I'm talking about card number 13, the card that psychics and mediums know stands for Death.
Tarot cards can have very different illustrations depending on who designed them but most illustrations symbolizes the same and on card number 13, Death, the illustrations always have something to do with death e.g. a skeleton walking through a field carrying a scythe with dead bodies laying all over the ground. Even though this image clearly depicts death, for psychics and mediums, card number 13 is also seen as a sign of starting our fresh, a new beginning and hope.
You may be scared or worried when this card is first laid in front of you but it very rarely means physical death. It usually means a change is coming, the end of an era and a new beginning. It could mean that your current relationship is entering a new phase or that your life a single person is coming to an end. It could also be that your search for a new job is over and that you will soon begin a life as a full time employee.
Obviously, in some cases the card literally means death – it all depends on the type of question you are asking. Naturally, we will all have to face death one way or another – it's the circle of life – but don't jump to any hasty conclusions as soon as you see tarot card number 13. Grim Reaper is harvesting the field, making room for new crops to grow. In the world of psychology a skeleton may symbolize death but in the world of psychics and mediums it symbolizes the inner part of ourselves that we rarely reveal.
If a tarot card with a skeleton is laid in front of you it could mean that you need to take an honest look deep within yourselves. Perhaps you have some bad habits you need to get rid of or issues you know you have to deal with but haven't had the courage to deal with them yet. Card number 13 may be a sign that now is the time to do so.
So next time you are presented with card number 13 during a tarot reading, don't panic. Take a deep breath and welcome the opportunity for change and evolution.
